Brie With Strawberries And Herbs In Puffed Pastry

Total Time: 35 mins Preparation Time: 15 mins Cook Time: 20 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1/2 cup strawberry jam
  • 1/4 cup chopped fresh strawberries
  • 1/2 teaspoon finely chopped fresh rosemary (or fresh mint or lemon thyme)
  • 1 sheet puff pastry, thawed (1/2 of a 17-ounce package)
  • 13 ounces wheel brie cheese (about 6 to 7-inches in diameter)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/4 cup grand marnier (optional)
  • fresh rosemary sprig, for garnish
  • clusters grapes, for garnish
  • baguette, slices for serving or cracker, for serving

Recipe

  • 1 preheat oven to 400°f.
  • 2 in a small bowl, combine jam, strawberries, and chopped rosemary.
  • 3 on a work surface, roll out puff pastry slightly into a 12-inch square.
  • 4 put cheese (do not cut off rind) in center of puff pastry.
  • 5 spread jam mixture over top of brie.
  • 6 fold puff pastry over brie; wet edges and press to seal.
  • 7 brush pastry with beaten egg.
  • 8 transfer to a baking sheet and bake for 20 minutes.
  • 9 cool for 10 minutes.
  • 10 carefully transfer to a cheese board or platter and drizzle with grand marnier. garnish with rosemary sprigs and grape clusters around the edges.
  • 11 serve warm, with crusty baguette slices or crackers and a nice bottle of wine or champagne!
