Cheese & Sausage Bundles

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 45 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 500 g hot italian lamb sausage
  • 2 cups shredded monterey jack cheese
  • 2 cans chopped green chilies
  • 4 tablespoons finely chopped green onions
  • 75 wonton wrappers
  • water

Recipe

  • 1 uncase and separate sausage.
  • 2 brown sausage in a skillet over medium-high heat.
  • 3 drain off excess drippings.
  • 4 combine cheese, chillies, green onions and sausage in a medium bowl.
  • 5 spoon 1 round teaspoon of sausage mixture near 1 corner of wonton wrapper.
  • 6 brush opposite corner with water.
  • 7 roll up “jelly rollâ€? style.
  • 8 moisten ends of roll with water.
  • 9 bring ends together to make a “bundleâ€? overlapping slightly and pressing firmly.
  • 10 repeat with remaining filling and wrappers.
  • 11 heat deep fryer to about 365.
  • 12 fry bundles a few at a time for about 2 minutes or until golden brown.
  • 13 drain on paper towel and serve.
  • 14 **bundles may also be frozen and reheated in the oven.**.
