Cheese Fritters

Total Time: 1 hr Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 35 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 4
  • 150 g mozzarella cheese, grated
  • 1 1/2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 3/4 cups milk
  • 1/2 cup butter or 1/2 cup margarine
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 2 -3 green chilies, washed and chopped
  • 1 tablespoon chopped fresh mint leaves
  • 1/2 teaspoon red chili powder
  • oil, to deep fry
  • salt

Recipe

  • 1 warm the milk in a skillet.
  • 2 slowly mix in the flour.
  • 3 add butter or margarine.
  • 4 keep stirring on low flame until well combined.
  • 5 remove from heat.
  • 6 add the cheese, green chillies, beaten egg, mint leaves, red chilli powder and salt.
  • 7 mix well and allow to cool.
  • 8 divide the mixture into small marble sized equal balls.
  • 9 heat oil in a wok.
  • 10 deep-fry the prepared marble sized balls in the hot oil.
  • 11 drain on clean paper kitchen napkins.
  • 12 arrange on a serving platter.
  • 13 serve with toothpicks stuck into each ball.
  • 14 this goes well with heinz tomato ketchup or a chutney.
