Chris's One Sauce Fits All

Total Time: 1 hr 25 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 1 hr 5 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 20
  • 15 banana peppers, seeded and chopped
  • 1 small bell pepper, seeded and chopped
  • 1 (14 ounce) can mexican-style stewed tomatoes with jalapeno peppers
  • 1 (14 ounce) can diced tomatoes or 12 ounces fresh diced tomatoes
  • 2 tablespoons minced garlic
  • 2 tablespoons extra virgin olive oil
  • 2 tablespoons butter
  • 1 teaspoon balsamic vinegar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon black pepper
  • 4 fresh cayenne peppers, seeded & ringed (optional) or 4 habaneros, for a wilder mix (optional)

Recipe

  • 1 heat olive oil in a deep frying pan.
  • 2 add peppers, cook for 10 minute.
  • 3 add tomatoes, garlic, balsamic vinegar, and salt & pepper.
  • 4 simmer for 20 minute.
  • 5 add butter and heat until desired texture is achieved.
  • 6 cool and put in a canning jar.
