Cheesy Appetizer

Total Time: 25 mins Preparation Time: 10 mins Cook Time: 15 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 sheet puff pastry
  • 2 cups mozzarella cheese
  • 1/4 cup parmesan cheese
  • 1/2 cup mayonnaise
  • 4 tomatoes
  • 8 fresh basil leaves

Recipe

  • 1 unfold one thawed sheet of puff pastry dough on a sheet of clear plastic wrap or waxed paper.
  • 2 dice the four tomatoes into small pieces(i usually slice the tomato in half and slightly squeeze the tomato before i dice it so that it isn't too juicy. that's up to you.).
  • 3 put the diced tomatoes into a medium sized mixing bowl.
  • 4 tear the 8 basil leaves into small pieces and add them to the same bowl.
  • 5 add the remaining ingredients to the same bowl.
  • 6 using a spoon, mix all the ingredients together.
  • 7 spread the mixture on the puff pastry dough making sure it is even and to the edges.
  • 8 choose the edge closest to you and roll the dough up so that it is in one tight roll.
  • 9 seal the long edge by pressing.
  • 10 chill in the refrigerator for about 15 minutes (you do not have to do this. i just find it's easier to slice and easier to prepare ahead of time and have ready to slice and cook whenever i am.).
  • 11 when ready to cook, just slice the roll into 1/2 inch slices and place them on a parchment lined cookie sheet.
  • 12 cook in a 425 degree oven for 15 minutes.
