Broccoli Quiche

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 25 mins Cook Time: 25 mins

Ingredients

  • Servings: 8
  • 1 frozen pie crust
  • 1/2 sliced red onion
  • 1 clove garlic, minced
  • 2/3 cup broccoli floret, blanched and drained
  • 3/4 cup grated gruyere or 3/4 cup swiss cheese
  • 3 large eggs, slightly beaten
  • 1 1/2 cups half-and-half
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 pinch ground nutmeg

Recipe

  • 1 brush frozen crust with egg yolk and prick thoroughly with a fork.
  • 2 prebake according to package instructions.
  • 3 saute the onion and garlic in olive oil until soft.
  • 4 mix the eggs, half and half, salt, pepper, and nutmeg.
  • 5 spread the onion, broccoli, and cheese on the bottom of the pie crust.
  • 6 pour in the egg mixture.
  • 7 bake at 375 for 25-30 minutes, or until set and browned.
