Chinese Plum Sauce

Total Time: 10 mins Preparation Time: 5 mins Cook Time: 5 mins

Ingredients

  • 18 ounces plum jam
  • 2 tablespoons vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon dried onion flakes (i sometimes used dried)
  • 1 teaspoon crushed red pepper flakes (or to taste)
  • 1 garlic clove, minced
  • 1/2-1 teaspoon fresh gingerroot
  • soy sauce (a couple of splashed could be optional)

Recipe

  • 1 in a saucepan over medium heat, combine all the ingredients.
  • 2 bring to a boil, stirring.
  • 3 let simmer a couple minutes. then remove from heat. great warm or at room temperature.
