Cheese Spread

Total Time: 11 mins Preparation Time: 1 min Cook Time: 10 mins

Ingredients

  • 3/4 lb sliced american cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 3/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/8 teaspoon dry mustard
  • 1 dash cayenne pepper
  • 2 egg yolks, room temperature

Recipe

  • 1 dice up american cheese ande put in medium sized heavy saucepan.
  • 2 add the salt, milk, dry mustard, and cayenne pepper.
  • 3 cook over low heat stirring constantly.
  • 4 remove from heat when cheese is melted.
  • 5 quickly stir in egg yolks until well blended.
  • 6 return to heat for about 1 minute or until mixture is completely smooth.
  • 7 pour into a container and leave uncovered until cool.
  • 8 cover and put in refrigerator.
  • 9 makes about 2 cups.
