Christy's Meatballs Or Meatloaf

Total Time: 50 mins Preparation Time: 20 mins Cook Time: 30 mins

Ingredients

  • 1 lb ground beef (use very lean beef)
  • 1 egg, beaten
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1/4 cup breadcrumbs
  • 2 tablespoons parmesan cheese
  • 2 tablespoons milk
  • 2 teaspoons mustard
  • 1 1/2 teaspoons garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon basil
  • 1/2 teaspoon oregano
  • 1/2 teaspoon parsley
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/2 teaspoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1/4 teaspoon hot sauce (optional)
  • 2 teaspoons oil
  • 2 teaspoons butter
  • 1 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 cup chopped onion
  • 1 teaspoon garlic, minced
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon worcestershire sauce
  • 1/4 teaspoon pepper
  • 1 teaspoon salt

Recipe

  • 1 preheat the oven to 350 degrees.
  • 2 mix all the meatball ingredients in a large bowl and shape into 1-inch balls. fry until brown in the oil and butter. drain off the grease and place meatballs on paper towels.
  • 3 place meatballs in a 2-qt. baking dish.
  • 4 in a small bowl, combine sauce ingredients. pour over meatballs.
  • 5 bake for 20 minutes.
  • 6 for a meatloaf, mix the meat and form into a loaf in a baking dish. bake for 45 minutes. remove from the oven and top with the sauce. return to the oven for 15-20 minutes or until the sauce looks bubbly.
